Off-ramp
Definition
An off-ramp is the path that converts stablecoins back into fiat currency, delivered into a bank account or payout method.
An off-ramp is the exit point from stablecoin infrastructure. It converts a stablecoin balance back into fiat and delivers it into a bank account or payout method. In cross-border flows, the off-ramp usually sits in the destination market and converts into the local currency, which is what turns value moving on-chain into money a recipient can actually spend. The reliability of off-ramps, in the right markets and with enough liquidity, is often the hardest part of making a payout corridor work.
