Thomas Johnson

Thomas brings a strong Blockchain and Operational foundation to the team.

As a founder of the business, he has seen the company through every high and low. Providing stability, reassurance and all-around support for every employee and client of the business. His focus is on all operational matters of the business, including Retail and Business verticals, The Damex Token, Market Making, Treasury Management, Liquidity provisions, security and even company trips away from the office.

His working career started in 2005 with the British Army, working closely with national and foreign military units in Gibraltar. He served for 8 years in this role and brings with him a wealth of practical experience.

Thomas later joined some of Gibraltar’s leading Online Gaming companies – Bwin, Party Digital Entertainment and GVC PLC. Thomas left GVC as a VIP Account Manager where held relationships with high-net-worth individuals before joining WaveCrest Holdings. At WaveCrest, Thomas took on the role of Supervising Manager of B2B operations. In this role, he managed the Business Partner Services team and held key business relationships with respected blockchain businesses, such as Xapo and Wirex.

Thomas’ experience with Blockchain started in mining Cryptocurrencies. This entry into the market, allowed him to explore the world of Blockchain and Digital Assets further, he started to trade on exchanges and educate other people about the possibilities and risks of Digital Assets.

Unable to find any accessible local community or forum to discuss developments in Blockchain, Thomas founded the Gibraltar Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Community in late 2017. He is also a Committee member of the Gibraltar Association for New Technologies.He is a dedicated sailor competing in various regattas year round, a volunteer for local animal shelters and a father to two dogs. Thomas values a progressive culture, integrity, good food and a sense of humour.
